Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Your Unique Definitions is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that draws its inspiration from the complexity and unique traits of youth. We view their unique traits as a strength rather than an impairment. We show the world via education, inspiration, and determination that this is their strength.
The staff at Your Unique Definition is motivated by the desire to improve the world for everyone. Our decision-making process is built on extensive empirical research and superb data analysis. ​
To address today's concerns, problem-solvers who bring fresh perspectives and are willing to take chances are needed. The idea that actions speak louder than words and the desire to improve and help the community form the basis of Your Unique Definition. ​We are inspired by original ideas, valiant actions, and a solid network of allies.
Our motto here is “Help a Child Today, Save a Child Tomorrow”. Our Mission is to empower children who face adversity due to academic and physical elements, poverty, lack of education, and limited access to basic necessities. We stive to improve their lives by providing them with the resources they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
Our vision is to create a world where every child has equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. By leveraging our expertise and resources, we are committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of children in need and contributing to a brighter future for all. We will do so through the many Projects and Programs that we have in place.
Our Story
A Note From the Founder

Isaiah, my son, has Vitiligo - a skin condition that causes some parts of the skin to lose color due to malfunctioning pigmentation cells. Imagine coloring a picture book, and some of the colors you applied started to fade away - that's similar to what happens with Vitiligo. Although it's not contagious or harmful, it can cause self-consciousness and discomfort in some individuals.
My husband and I have taught Isaiah to embrace his uniqueness and feel proud of himself. We believe that every person's uniqueness is a gift from God, and we encourage him to use it to stand up for others who feel different. However, we are aware that not everyone understands or accepts those who are different.
This realization hit me hard when an elderly man mistook Isaiah's condition for painted markings, or when a teacher asked him to remove his makeup. I was initially angry, but then I realized that many people are not aware of the diversity around them. Even adults and the school system lack awareness and understanding of differences. This reinforced my belief that education and empathy promotion are crucial in our society.
I discussed my concerns with my friend Jayme Rodgers, and we started brainstorming ways to help others learn about the unique elements that make them special. That's how Your Unique Definition was born. We want people to understand that their uniqueness does not define them but can be used as a strength.
