Children are the greatest resource we have for our future. And yet, they face many challenges that put them at risk of not achieving a successful future, including poverty, homelessness, a physical or cognitive disability, abuse, bullying, racism, or something that just sets them apart. Our kids need your help, and we can’t do this without you.

About UsAt Your Unique Definition (YUD), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, we believe every child possesses unique strengths, or "superpowers," that make them extraordinary.
Whether overcoming grief, social challenges, or finding their path in the world, YUD is dedicated to helping each child unlock their potential through etiquette, life skills, and leadership programs. We also spread awareness about the diverse "elements" that make children different—such as ADHD, Autism, and Anxiety—fostering a more inclusive and understanding community. Our goal is to inspire confidence, resilience, and personal growth in every child. "Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story.” —Josh Shipp |

Our Programs |
Many children face challenges that set them apart from their peers, whether through physical limitations, learning disabilities, mental health struggles, or differences in appearance. These experiences can lead to emotional and mental harm, limiting their potential as they grow.
Your Unique Definition (YUD) recognizes the urgent need to engage with at-risk youth by teaching life-affirming skills and providing transformative opportunities. Our programs—ranging from etiquette and life skills to leadership, grief support, and awareness initiatives—aim to equip children with the tools they need to thrive confidently in their communities and beyond. |
Project Summer Curriculum & Incentive Program
Project Summer is a Curriculum and Incentive Program designed to combat the "summer slide" among children in Pre-K through 4th Grade. The program focuses on preventing academic loss by providing engaging and enriching curriculum activities that keep children learning throughout the summer break. Through structured educational materials and incentives, Project Summer ensures that children retain and strengthen their academic skills, preparing them for success in the upcoming school year.

Elements of Identity Program
Elements of Identity is a program designed to raise awareness of the unique traits that make each child different. We focus on elements such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety, and many more. The program aims to foster understanding and acceptance in the community by celebrating these "superpowers" and encouraging others to embrace these differences. Through workshops and outreach, we promote inclusivity and support for children facing these challenges and offer workshops to teach others about the challenges.
